Logistics & orders processing officer
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Place orders with suppliers (local/foreign) based on agreed terms and conditions.
  • Follows up on purchasing order shipments with suppliers and local forwarding companies (prepares shipping original documents).
  • Regularly checks and follows up with suppliers and forwarders the list of orders ready for shipments.
  • Prepares customs clearance documents & coordinates with the customs clearing agent to ensure clearance & delivery of goods in a timely manner.
  • Handles marine insurance policies (application forms, claims follow up).
  • Coordinates with the showroom/warehouse staff regarding the proper and timely delivery of goods to the showroom/warehouse.
  • Creates data entry on the system (stock items).
  • Prepares List of Purchase Orders not fully received.
  • Prepares costing documents for stock entry and follows up on the List of Purchase Orders once fully received.
  • Follows up on Shipment Costing (check % costing, item codes, etc.)
  • Handles and follows up on re-export shipment formalities of defective items.
  • Handles re-export shipment formalities to customers including all required re-export documents.
  • Checks and follows up the status of Sales Orders with the showroom/warehouse.
  • Follows up delivery status of orders with suppliers / customers versus confirmed delivery dates.
  • Follows up claims for returned goods from customers.
  • Updates and follows up the shipment rates/offer with the forwarders.
  • Prepares and handles payment requests to foreign/custom clearing agent


REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
  1. I.        Knowledge: BA/ Technical degree or any equivalent with good knowledge of logistics with

Basic accounting knowledge

 

  1. II.      Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
  2. III.    Competencies:

Technical :   

-          Excellent command of English, French and Arabic

-          Proficiency in MS office use

 

Managerial:

-          Client Service Orientation 

Leadership:   

-          N/A

Behavioral:

-          Strong Adaptability and excellent Communication skills

 

  1. Work environment:
  1. a.       Environmental conditions: May be interrupted frequently to meet with the office needs and requests

Physical requirements and conditions: Long hours sitting behind desk and pc.
